Edge currently captures the exact coordinates from your 3rd party GPS device, but in some operating systems it cannot display the exact accuracy level because the OS location services obscure it. Here are the details based on hardware:
- Android: Any NMEA device paired with Edge will show full accuracy and all metadata available.
- iOS: All the GPS manufacturers we’ve partnered with (SXBlue, EOS, CHC, etc.) will pass the exact coordinates and all metadata. Please see full list here: http://www.terragotech.com/products/terrago-edge/gps-receivers
- Additionally, any GPS receiver capable of communicating via bluetooth with iOS will be able to pass on exact coordinates, but will visually report in increments of 5 meters because of a limitation of iOS Core Location.
